It’s going to be another night in showbiz history to remember as ABS-CBN Star Magic celebrates its 20th year of gifting the local entertainment with world-class artists and performers in the annual Star Magic Ball.

Tomorrow, Sept. 1, the magic ball will be held at the Rizal ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Hotel and will be hosted by Piolo Pascual, John Lapus and John Lloyd Cruz. The stars will be dressed to the nines in black and white ensembles. Gowns and suits from top fashion designers like Jun Escario, Ivar Aseron, Dong Omaga-Diaz, Rhett Eala, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Amir Sali, John Herrera, Eric delos Santos, Hindy Weber Tantoco, Bing Cristobal, Albert Figueras, Veejaye Floresca, Jeffrey Rogador, Sassa Jimenez, Tina Daniac, Joey Samson, Regine Tolentino, Albert Andrada, M Barreto, Jovan dela Cruz, Mannie Jalasan, Ferdie Abuel, Goulli Gorospe, Simon Ariel Vasquez, Estien Quijano, Jay Custodio, Harvic Dominguez, Olan Roque, Analiza Felix, Nat Manilag, Avel Bacudio, Edwin Tan, Randy Ortiz, Inno Sotto, Pepsi Herrera, Francis Libiran, Paul Cabral and Rajo Laurel will make the stars shine their brightest on the red carpet. Dave Ocampo, Cheetah Rivera, Gerswin Qua, Mark Tamayo, Nico Agustin and Lev Rodriguez of Fashion Designers Alliance of the Philippines (FADAL) also provided ball outfits for the stars.

This year’s event will not only be attended by Star Magic’s current roster of talents but also artists whom they have helped shaped and launched careers since the management center began in 1992. Also expected to attend are famous names in the industry from directors, film and TV producers to entrepreneurs and network executives.

Highlights of the ball include the yearly cotillon that introduces Star Magic’s upcoming artists and the launch of the Star Magic Catalogue 2013, where guests will get a first look at its newest star portfolio. There will be song numbers from Sam Milby, Khalil, Xian Lim, Vina Morales, Erik Santos, Jovit Baldivino, Nyoy Volante, Bugoy Drilon, Liezel Garcia, Richard Poon, Yeng Constantino, Angeline Quinto and Ryan Cayabyab. A special tribute also goes to those who work behind the camera, the ones making every artist’s success possible and the much-awaited awarding ceremony where the exceptional stars of the night will receive honors.

Star Magic also gives special mention to those who made the event possible like Keren Pascual, event stylist Robert Blancaflor, BaiCapture photo booths, 0+ electronic gadgets, Moet and Chandon champagne and Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

Gay Couple Sues Airline Over Dildo Prank

A couple returning from a dreamy vacation endured a nightmarish end to their trip. In May 2011, Christopher Bridgeman and Martin Borger were flying on Continental Airlines from Costa Rica to their home in Virginia, with a connection in Houston. British Soldiers Show Their Love For Prince Harry By Getting Naked

It’s enough to make you wish we’d kept the monarchy: In a sign of solidarity with Prince Harry, who got busted in some photos playing strip billiards, members of the British military have been posting nude pictures of themselves online.

“Support Prince Harry with a Naked Salute,” a Facebook group with more than 12,000 members to date, has seen hundreds of male and female soldiers uploading photos with their “grenades” carefully obscured by everything from sugar tins to the British flag. The page has proven so popular, administrators have opened it up to anyone who wants to show support for Harry.

“I started the group after my mate, who is about to deploy, sent me a picture of himself saluting naked as a joke after hearing about Prince Harry,” said page founder Jordan Wylie, 29. “What started as a jokey conversation in the pub has turned into a huge worldwide thing with people from all kinds of countries getting involved. Thousands of members of the military and ex-military are involved, sending us pictures from Afghanistan and everything. Even my dad who was in the Royal Marines is on there, and there’s also a 75-year-old man who is posing with his medals.” Wylie said members support the Crown Prince because he’s “just one of the lads.”

With more revealing pictures of the carrot-top royal rumored to be surfacing, expect more patriotic Brits to put their privates on parade. Careful with those guns, lads!

Rafael Rosell recently signed an exclusive contract with GMA Network, Inc. Present in the contract signing was GMA chair and CEO Felipe Gozon together with Rafael’s manager Popoy Caritativo, OIC for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable and AVP for Drama Redgie Magno.

Being welcomed by the GMA executives, Rafael feels very honored and excited about this new chapter in his life, saying: ‘I was looking for change. Para akong naging artista ulit. Naalala ko yung una kong pagpunta sa Pilipinas. Sobrang excited ako and I was inspired. Yun yung nararamdaman ko ngayon. It’s a new environment and new group of people that will help me improve more.’

Popoy, meanwhile, is confident that the Kapuso network will give his new talent good projects to shine brighter. ‘GMA has always taken good care of the careers of my prime artists Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo. When Rafael asked me to manage him, hindi ako nag-hesitate. I believe in his talent and I believe in him. Alam ko namang may lugar sa GMA for another leading man. Kumatok kami sa GMA and they welcomed him with open arms. So we’re here and I’m very thankful that they have good plans for him.’

Rafael is handled by Luminary Talent Agency. He will guest on GMA’s upcoming primetime program Aso ni San Roque and will work with Marian, Dennis and Alessandra de Rossi via the Filipino adaptation of the Korean drama Temptation of Wife.

You can run, but you can’t hide. No matter where you go, Amorosa: The Revenge will find you when it hits theaters in a few days. Brought to you by Skylight Films—the maindie (mainstream indie) film arm of Star Cinema and the same group behind the successful Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang—this movie will give audiences plenty to scream about.

To hear the cast tell it, a lot of screaming went into the making of this movie. Actress/TV host Angel Aquino, who makes her horror film debut in Amorosa: The Revenge as doting mother Rosa, admits that she was constantly fighting her fear while shooting. “I used my imagination a lot. So kung ano man yung instructions sa akin ni Direk Topel [Lee], na-i-imagine ko na totoo talaga. Kunyari sasabihin niya sa akin na merong multo sa likod ko, hindi na talaga ako lilingon, kasi na-i-magine ko nga na meron talaga. Minsan tinatanong ko si Direk kung bakit pa niya kailangan sabihin sa akin yun kasi madali akong matakot.”

Angel adds the spooky atmosphere on their set made the experience a lot scarier. “We actually think there were really ghosts there kasi one of the castmembers took a photo in one of the rooms, and sa photo niya may lumabas talagang reflection on the door. That door is so old, as in hindi siya makintab or varnished, so imposible na magka-reflection siya, but sa photo, there really was an image of a girl in a white dress on the door! Nung pinakita sa akin, natakot ako talaga. Sabi pa ng stylist naman namin na may third eye, meron daw talagang multo doon.”

Enrique Gil, who plays Rommel, one of Rosa’s two sons, used to dismiss the possibility 

that their location was haunted. But after several days on set and hearing all the scary stories from his co-stars and the crew, Enrique changed his tune. “Nung una ako pa yung nagsasabi sa kanila na walang multo sa set namin. Pero habang nagtagal, pati ako natatakot na rin. Nakakatakot talaga sa lugar na yun kasi sa gabi may fog, tapos nag-ha-howl pa yung wind. Kaya nga kung pwede, ayoko maiwan sa standby area ng mag-isa.”

Martin del Rosario, who plays Rosa’s blind son Amiel, was one of the few cast members who kept his fears at bay. When asked how he did it, he shared that he just focused on how great it was to be part of Amorosa: The Revenge. “Mahilig kasi talaga ako sa horror movies. Kung papipiliin mo ako, horror kasi gusto ko panuorin. Kaya masaya ako na napasama ako dito. First time ko rin makatrabaho sina Ms. Angel at Enrique sa isang movie. Masaya, parang magkaka-age lang kami. Very comfortable kaming lahat sa isa’t-isa—kahit minsan may nangyayaring nakakatakot sa set na hindi namin talaga ma-explain.”

But don’t take the cast’s word for it—see for yourself how terrifying the movie is when it hits theaters on August 29.

Amorosa: The Revenge is directed by Topel Lee. Also starring in it are Empress, Carlo Aquino, Ejay Falcon and introducing Jane Oineza. Franco Daza, Nico Antonio, Jairus Aquino, Mosang, Richard Quan, with the special participation of child star Xyriel Manabat, round out the cast of the movie.

Prince Harry put the crown jewels on display in Vegas this weekend ... getting BARE ASS NAKED during a game of strip billiards with a room full of friends in his VIP suite. It all went down Friday night during a raging party in a high rollers hotel suite. 

We're told Harry, along with a large entourage, went down to the hotel bar and met a bunch of hot chicks ... and invited them up to his VIP suite.

Once in the room, things got WILD ... with the group playing a game of strip pool that quickly escalated into full-on royal nudity.

America’s Next Top Model kicks off its 19th cycle next Friday with an all-new set of judges after Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and Miss J. Alexander were given the boot. But it’s an international version of the show—there have been more than two dozen to date—making waves right now: Season Three of Korea’s Next Top Model features among its cast of aspiring fashionistas Choi Han-bit, who is transgender.

You might recall that Tyra Banks broke barriers in 2008, during ANTM‘s 11th cycle, with the casting of trans woman Isis King. She proved so popular that producers brought her back last year for another go in the show’s first all-star season.
