Thirty two stunning and gorgeous male and female candidates are vying to be the first Mr. and Ms. EcoTourism Philippines – The Mossimo Bikini Summit 2011 Edition, one of the most-awaited modelling and personality searches this year.

Produced by Galaxy Entertainment and Production Services, the search sincerely aims to uplift and help in promoting the country's ecotourism. It also generates awareness especially among the Filipino youth the importance or significance of ecotourism and love for motherland.

Mr. and Ms. EcoTourism Philippines – The Mossimo Bikini Summit 2011 Edition is a product of the integration of Galaxy's maiden project and international fashion brand Mossimo's annual modeling search which is now on it's eight year. The event promises to be a two-in-one spectacle of beauty, health and wellness, wit, pageantry and concern for ecological, cultural, environmental issues of our country. The pageant night will be held on June 18, 2011 at Canyon Cove Beach Club in Nasugbu, Batangas.

The official female candidates from the National Capital Region (NCR) are
Kim de Guzman, Abby Monderin, Maria Martinez, Alexis Navarro, Hea Lee, Sabrina Watts, Carla Valderrama, Melissa Tavora, Janelle Olafson, Aika Arcangel, Cheryl Torralba and Nicole Kaufmann. The representatives from the regional searches are Rita Sarmiento (Palawan), Bianca Cadavas (Davao), Mira Mae Dimmerling (Cebu) and Hershey Montecastro (La Union).

The official male candidates from NRC are Renzie Ongkiko, Nelson Banzuela, Mark Luz, Kevin Donelly, Kiko Matos, Charles Gerardo, Aaron Yanga, Russel Gooh, Benj Bolivar, Kyle De Ortega, JD Espinosa and Martin Flores. The Regional Leg winners are Ryan Briese (Palawan), Jolo Garcia (Davao), Judah Cohen (Cebu) and Alvin Haider (La Union).


Last May 7, some of the candidates showcased their talent at the Festival Supermall in Alabang to vie for the Best in Talent special award. Other activities lined up for the candidates are the swimwear and eco-wear pre-pageant, ecotourism immersions in Laguna, Quezon, Puerto Princesa in Palawan, La Union, Bataan, to name a few. They will also be doing the rounds of TV guesting and radio visits. It is also noteworthy that all of the candidates attended a special lecture on ecotourism for them to fully digest the proper definition of the word and have the knowledge on how to channel their efforts on the advocacy of the search.

Paul Zhuang, Galaxy Entertainment and Production's Managing Director and Producer of the search, is proud of the line up of candidates to the first Mr. and Ms. EcoTourism Philippines – The Mossimo Bikini Summit 2011 Edition. "I believe that we chose the best candidates. They understand what our advocacy is and they embody what is really beauty, inside and out," says Zhuang.

Stage and fashion director Calvin Neria, who was also in-charge of the Mossimo Bikini Summit from 2002 to 2005, describes the candidates as "raw, fresh and interesting." He is excited to be working with a new crop of aspiring models. "I want to see how they slowly hone and master their modelling skills and help them achieve their fullest potential."

Asked what the audience should look forward to during the pageant night, Neria says "unconventional, surprising and stylish."
